The spring State Cup schedule is set.
The Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association posted the group play schedule for the Wisconsin State Championships on Wednesday.
Most of the 134 teams will play three round-robin matches from May 23 to May 25, with group winners advancing to the May 30 semifinals. The finals are scheduled for May 31; all matches are at the Scheels USA Youth Soccer Complex in Appleton.
State champions earn berths in the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships, which are June 20 to 24 in Appleton and Southwest Park in De Pere.
The spring State Cup competition features Under-13 through Under-19 boys teams and Under-13, Under-14 and Under-19 girls sides. Girls teams in the Under-15 through Under-18 age groups claimed state titles and regional berths last fall – those divisions are held in the fall to avoid conflicts with the WIAA season.
Eight of the 10 age groups playing this spring consist of four four-team groups. The exceptions are the Under-19 competitions: The boys division has one four-team group, where the two teams with the most points will meet again for the title, while a combined SC Waukesha-Strike FC United side will play Rush Wisconsin in the girls final.
